Stitch by stitch - what started as a creative outlet, quickly became a true passion!

Ahoy!

I'm Chantel, the captain behind Chanty Loops Creations – Crochet from the Sea. I have been an artist all my life dabbling across many mediums from piano, drawing, hula-hooping, and also crochet!

On board, is my partner Matt, a strong deck hand offering ideas and help with operations; and Sadie Lady - our Boston Terrier.

Chanty Loops was born quickly after Sadie becoming our inspiration in 2024/25. Sadie underwent a series of eye procedures, all whilst packing up our lives on land, to move onto a 34ft sailboat - I turned to crochet as a way to process emotions, stay grounded, and express myself through art during these times.

Today, all operations from pattern designing to handmade creations happen aboard our sailboat. My creations are strongly inspired by festival fashion and our West Coast landscapes around us -- strong shorelines, colorful sunsets, natural contrasting beauty! Each item is stitched with care, creativity, with a little salty sea air woven into every loop.

Why handmade matters

In a world of mass production, handmade is different. When you purchase, your directly supporting us from the Sea -- the impact is stronger -- and you're investing in something that was human made - taking real time, skill, and love to create. It is intentional that no two pieces are exactly alike - that's kind of the point!

I pour myself into every pattern, every creative decision, and piece. I want you to feel the love (and sea) infused with my art. Especially in a world of A.I...

We are proudly Canadian, woman-captained ship! We work from the Sea in the West Coast waters, and every order is Chanty Loops from beginning to end!
